October daily special, in case you couldn’t get enough of all the creative content craziness from Jennifer Weigel we’re posting one a day for the whole of the month!

Bundled in our coats with breath forming wispy clouds to dance about the bitter cold of the winter air, we skidded out onto the ice, the small pond frozen beneath our bulky boots. We fantasized about ice skating, slowly sliding one foot in front of the other as we traipsed across our summer fishing haunt with visions of graceful allure. The surface was thin enough to see the water swirling below with each and every footfall. In our childhood naivete, we didn’t recognize the danger. I only later came to realize just how lucky we were. Fortunately, the ice held.
Thinking back on this very real experience, I am still amazed that neither of us fell into the frigid water. Our guardian angels were working overtime that day.
