October daily special, in case you couldn’t get enough of all the creative content craziness from Jennifer Weigel we’re posting one a day for the whole of the month!

Our eyes met but briefly,
a dangerous curve that led
off the road, tracing
the stain where a dog lay dead.
I hadn’t bargained for
forgiveness, just a frog caught
in my throat croaking
warning of life come to naught.
Willing conversation,
junk wisdom lost to whether
a life spent in song
might help to keep me tethered.
His featherless, naked face
creased with lines of laughter,
beak arced in a smile,
we journeyed to hereafter.
He led me by the hand,
plodding ever slow and slight
towards the grave, end
of the highway now in sight.
This is an homage based on the song by the Indigo Girls. You can watch it on YouTube here.
