I look up at the ceiling in a trance
at the celestial sparkle indoors
where we’ve captured the stars’ bright radiance
to set the scene for the rock concert tours,
traveling shows and inspired debuts,
the primadonna’s operatic songs,
oh-so-many grand musical revues,
celebrity entourages and throngs,
and all those who would steal heaven’s thunder
to bedazzle with lavish opulence,
casting the audience in awed wonder
at the wholly extravagant expense.

So, Phantom of the Opera, we’re waiting for your premiere performance. And I can understand why the chandelier…
